Berkeley Collegium Grant Program: Proposals due March 22, 2024

January 22, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

The Berkeley Collegium is issuing its 10th call for project proposalswith a focus on creating and expanding opportunities for undergraduates to engage in research and discovery. At our world-leading research institution, faculty are committed to intellectual discovery and creation, and likewise strive for excellence in their teaching. Now in its 10th year, this grant program joins research and teaching by supporting faculty projects that introduce students to the methods, practices, dispositions, challenges, and joys of research and discovery. The program dovetails with broader campus efforts around Discovery by offering a laboratory to develop and test out curricular and co-curricular activities, programs, and courses that provide undergraduates with discovery opportunities.

The Collegium aims to fund up to six projects of up to $20,000 each over a 1-2 year grant period (depending on the nature of the project). More grants may be funded if budgets are under the $20,000 maximum. The grant period begins at the start of the Fall 2024 semester.

Detailed information about the grant, as well as submission instructions and the submission form, can be found on the Berkeley Collegium webpage.

All proposals must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2024. If you have questions, please email Sumali Tuchrello at

Best regards,

Oliver M. O’Reilly
Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education
