The Manager, Advising Strategy and Training (MAST) enhances advising, and coordinating support for the 900+ members of the academic and co-curricular advising community. This new role was created with initial funding from the Haas Jr. Fund in support of the Chancellor’s commitment to improving the undergraduate student experience.
Help students explore undergraduate majors and academic, co-curricular, and discovery opportunities by creating major maps for your undergraduate degree programs. Major Maps are experience maps that help students design and plan their UC Berkeley undergraduate journey based on their intended major.
Inform your advising with student data and reports curated by the Division of Undergraduate Education. Available materials include the UC Undergraduate Experience Survey, New Student Survey, Golden Bear Orientation Survey, and Student Pulse Surveys.
Study Abroad & Summer Sessions
Advisors are invited to join their peers each January and learn about new programs and developments in Berkeley Study Abroad and Summer Sessions. Invitations and registration information are sent via the AdvisorNet listserv.
Berkeley Study Abroad Fair
Our annual Study Abroad Fair is held each fall for students to learn about study, work, intern, teach, and volunteer abroad opportunities for UC Berkeley students. Students can interact directly with Berkeley Study Abroad Advisers, former study abroad participants, and campus departments and resources. Departments offering international programs and/or resources who are interested are encouraged to visit studyabroadweek.berkeley.edu and email email@example.com
This Advancing Practice presentation from Berkeley Study Abroad will provide you with information and tools to help you feel more comfortable advising undergraduate students on study abroad. You will receive a general overview of how study abroad works (eligibility, credit transfer, financial aid) and a summary of available programs and the differences between them. In addition, we will discuss potential opportunities to work together to support students in having meaningful study abroad experiences.
Summer Sessions can support the promotion of your summer courses by creating e-mailable flyers and/or social media graphics for you—at no charge. Submit a request at bit.ly/2021SummerPromoRequest
Summer Opportunities Fair
Departments are invited to table at the Summer Opportunities Fair, an annual event each February for UC Berkeley students to engage with campus units offering summer courses, summer minors, summer and intern abroad programs, internships, research opportunities, jobs, and more. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for registration details and availability.
