The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is excited to announce a call for applications to join the Online & Hybrid Course Design Institute (OHI) for the Spring or Summer 2025 sessions.
OHI is a project-based program where instructors will receive guidance and support while redesigning a class to an online or hybrid format or incorporating digital pedagogical features. The program is focused on providing support for instructors who have limited experience with online and hybrid classes. Instructors who are already well-versed in the topic may find some of the materials to be a review; however, as the focus of OHI is to redesign a course to be taught in a new modality, all instructors are welcome to apply regardless of their experience level.
OHI is designed as a predominately asynchronous course experience with optional synchronous sessions held via Zoom. All participants will also have access to individual Zoom consultations with a CTL consultant.
The Spring 2025 session will follow the semester instruction dates, January 21 - May 9, 2025. The Summer 2025 session will follow the Session C dates, June 23 - August 15, 2025.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a $2,000 course development grant.
Please visit the Online & Hybrid Course Design Institute web page to learn more about the program.
If you are interested in applying for either the Spring or Summer 2025 session, please complete the following application form by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
CTL will notify applicants of their acceptance no later than Friday, December 13. Any questions about the program or application can be directed to teaching@berkeley.edu.
