Dear students,
We’re pleased to announce that the UC Berkeley Library has extended the hours of two of its locations and streamlined its policy on food and drinks. These changes will help us better serve students’ needs while Moffitt Library is temporarily closed for renovations.
Doe Library is now open 22 hours per day most days and has extended weekend hours. The C. V. Starr East Asian Library is open until 10 p.m. most days and is now open on the weekends. See a full list of libraries’ hours.
Students can bring drinks — lids are required — to most of the UC Berkeley Library locations, including Doe and the Main (Gardner) Stacks. Other locations, such as the Environmental Design and Social Research libraries, allow snacks as well as drinks with lids. (Snacks or drinks are not permitted at The Bancroft Library due to the nature of its special collections materials.)
For more information about Moffitt’s closure, a list of alternative study spaces, and details about individual libraries’ food and drink policies, check out the UC Berkeley Library’s FAQ.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this important renovation, which will add hundreds of new spaces and allow Moffitt to welcome more students than ever.
Sincerely,
