Dear Students,
UC Berkeley offers so many important opportunities beyond the classroom. We’ve heard from you that you want help finding and accessing the wide range of student opportunities across campus. Now, thanks to a very generous gift from an anonymous donor, we’ve been able to create a new undergraduate Discovery Hub that’s designed to help you in your search.
The Discovery Hub brings together information on internships, research opportunities, campus entrepreneurship, public service, creative projects, and more. It supports you in finding funding, peer collaborators, faculty mentors, and the tools you need to carry out your own discovery projects. Discovery projects are the hands-on, immersive projects which best express your purpose and passion as a Berkeley student. We have created the Discovery Hub to ensure that these transformative experiences are more equitably accessible to all of you.
Toward that goal, a central project of the Hub is the pilot launch of the Discovery Opportunities Database. In our beginning phase, the database already has 400+ opportunities from around campus—from fellowships and internships to experiential learning courses and scholarships.
Here are four ways to start using the Discovery Hub today:
- Explore the Discovery Opportunities Database and share your feedback
- Get inspired by the video archive of student discovery stories
- RSVP for an April online workshop to get an introduction to using Hub resources
- Sign-up for the Discovery Hub email list to get regular updates
I hope you find these resources helpful and I wish you a rewarding and restful spring break.
