Dear Faculty,
We are about to go live with the spring 2021 Freshman and Sophomore Seminars, and so far there are only 49 seminars for next semester.
We understand that this is a challenging academic year for new students experiencing their first year of Berkeley remotely. You can give students the intellectual intimacy that they crave, and—if the freshmen I have met are typical—their optimism and enthusiasm will lift your spirits when you need it most.
If you have it in you to sit with a small group of freshmen for one hour a week to discuss any topic of interest that is appropriate for first-year students, please contact me at alix@berkeley.edu and we will work out the details.
