Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education Oliver O’Reillly and Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Rich Lyons are pleased to announce that the Berkeley Changemaker®Program has joined the Division of Undergraduate Education as of January 1, 2023. This move connects the Berkeley Changemaker Program to the heart of the undergraduate experience.
What is Berkeley Changemaker? Berkeley Changemaker codifies an essential part of what UC Berkeley has always stood for and provides a galvanizing narrative that our whole campus is rallying behind, humanists and scientists alike. Through its focus on i) critical thinking, ii) communication, and iii) collaboration, its curriculum activates undergraduates’ passions and develops a sharper sense of who they want to be and how to make that happen.
Since its launch in the summer of 2020, the Berkeley Changemaker Program’s suite of over 20 courses have enrolled some 6,000 undergraduates. This cross-disciplinary program involves over 50 faculty members drawn from 28 academic departments and eleven schools & colleges across UC Berkeley.
