Accreditation Visit: Notification of Confidential Email Account

October 22, 2014

The University of California, Berkeley is hosting a site visit by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) this week, in connection with its review for reaffirmation of accreditation.

The WASC Accreditation Team is now on campus and welcomes your comments. The WSCUC has established a confidential email account ( to give members of the campus community the opportunity to provide input to the WASC team. Messages sent to this account cannot be accessed by UC Berkeley representatives.

The email account is created for this visit only and will be closed once the WSCUC team leaves the campus. Only comments made before or during the visit will be considered as part of the review process.

The team is not able to meet individually with members of the campus community, so please do not use the email account to request private appointments.

Please note that team members will not respond individually to comments provided through any of these venues, including the confidential email account. However, the input from comments, along with other forms of information, will be considered as the team undertakes its work and develops recommendations to the institution. Institutional reports, on-campus interviews, and email comments become part of the information collected and reviewed by the team.

More information about the accreditation effort can be found on the campus accreditation website (

If you are a manager who supervises Cal employees without email access, please circulate this information to all.
