The American Cultures (AC) Center is pleased to invite nominations for the 2023 AC Excellence in Teaching Award. The Award recognizes a UC Berkeley instructor whose exceptional approach to teaching an AC course creates impactful and generative classroom environments that enable students to grapple with the complexity of cultures in the United States.
The first stage of this award requires a nomination to be submitted by Friday, February 17, 2023. While the nomination needs to be approved and submitted by the department chair, vice-chair for instruction, or another appropriate official, the nomination may be initiated by any member of the campus community (including instructors, staff, and students) as long as the nominee has not already received an American Cultures teaching award (see previous recipients).
Recipients receive a $2,500 grant and are honored at an annual award ceremony. Award criteria details can be found on the AC Center website. Inquiries about the AC Teaching Award may be sent to americancultures@berkeley.edu.
