CS Scholars Program

The CS Scholars Program at UC Berkeley is a community in which students can learn and grow together. The EECS Center for Student Affairs (CSA) recognizes the unique challenges that students from under-resourced and low opportunity communities face at the university and in computer science therefore our goal is to provide a supportive network in which students can thrive.

Rose Hills Summer Scholarship

Sponsored by the Rose Hills Foundation and administered by the Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarships, Rose Hills Summer Scholarships enable UC Berkeley students from STEM disciplines to immerse themselves in full-time summer research. Open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the fellowship supports both faculty-led and independent projects. To be eligible, students must be US Citizens with permanent residence in Southern California and be majoring in select STEM majors. The scholarship provides students with $5000 in summer funding.

EOP STEM

The EOP STEM Program was created through student advocacy to bridge the needs of first-generation and/or low-income Educational Opportunity Program students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields. Empowering Womxn in STEAM

The Empowering Womxn in STEAM (WiSE) Theme Program is focused on exploring the intersections of gender with Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. WiSE exists to support womxn and their allies as they explore their interest in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (STEAM).

The Cal NERDS Program is comprised of a suite of programs and initiatives that provide faculty mentored research opportunities, specialized tech training, graduate school preparation, career coaching, community building, and professional development to high achieving STEM undergraduates and graduate students.

Transfer Pre-Engineering Program

Berkeley Engineering’s Transfer Pre-Engineering Program (T-PREP) begins with a three week summer program offered to incoming Berkeley Engineering transfer students. T-PREP continues throughout the year with workshops and events that are for your cohort. The transition from a community college to a major research university can be challenging, and transfer students often underestimate the degree of change. Students who participate in T-PREP will be fully prepared to meet the rigors of being a junior in the College of Engineering.

The Engineering Mentorship Program is a year-long program that uses the power of mentorship to increase access and equity for everyone in our community.
