Omar is the Manager of Advising Policy & Strategy in Advising Strategy + Training (AS+T) within the Division of Undergraduate Education. In this role, he works at the intersection of advising, policy, and strategy, guiding initiatives that strengthen advising systems and collaboration across the campus units that support undergraduate students. Omar partners with colleges and student services units to align advising policy with institutional priorities, support campus governance processes, and advance professional development for the advising and student services community. This work focuses on building a coordinated advising ecosystem that helps students navigate their academic pathways and make meaningful connections across their undergraduate experience.
Previously, he served as Director of Undergraduate Advising in the College of Environmental Design and held roles in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Transfer Center, and the Chicanx/Latinx Academic Student Development office.
