This email contains important fall 2026 enrollment deadline information. Please refer to the current Student Enrollment Calendar for all enrollment deadlines, including those that generate enrollment fees.
Instructor Drop Deadline
The deadline for instructors to drop students is Friday, September 11, 2026. For more information about the criteria for instructor drops, visit the Undergraduate Education website. For general enrollment information and resources, visit the Office of the Registrar website.
Student Drop/Add Deadline (with a Fee)
The fall 2026 undergraduate student deadline to add, drop, swap, and change class units is Wednesday, September 16 at 11:59 p.m. PT. This deadline applies to all courses not on the Early Drop Deadline list. Add/Drop fees are listed on the Office of the Registrar website.
Please inform students that they must drop themselves from the waitlists of any courses they no longer wish to take by the Wednesday, September 16 deadline. On Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18, departmental staff can add students from the waitlist to fill seats that become available. If instructors of record have questions about the process, they may contact their enrollment manager directly.
Reminder about 2027 Change to Add/Drop Deadlines
Starting in the fall 2027 semester, the add/drop deadline for students will move forward by one week, falling in the third week of classes, typically the tenth day of instruction, rather than in the fourth week. The revised deadlines will be:
- Fall 2027 Semester: Wednesday, September 8, 2027
- Spring 2028 Semester: Tuesday, February 1, 2028
Please note that there will be no change to the Early Drop Deadline at this time.
